The gallery contains a collection of important paintings by 19th and 20th century Scottish artists (the Faeds, Hornel, Jessie M. King, Elizabeth Blackadder, Alan Davey to name a few) and also has a varied exhibition programme of contemporary works by local and national artists. The Studios building houses an exhibition hall and workshop/studios, and the grounds contain a sculpture garden.
