Highland Folk Museum

Highland

The Highland Folk Museum, Kingussie and Newtonmore, invites you to enter the World of the Highlander. At Kingussie, every part of the unique and extensive collection of everyday domestic objects, together with major exhibits of furniture, machinery and implements connected with the countryside, provides a fascinating insight into the social history of the ordinary people of the Highlands. At Newtonmore, whole buildings and their environment have been reconstructed, according to the authentic skills and technology of each period. Here you actually experience walking through a number of "time windows" dating from the early 18th century Highland township to the mid-20th century working croft.
