Bute Museum
Visitors can experience the history, natural history and archaeology of the Isle of Bute, at the independently run Bute Museum. The exhibits cover everything from early stone tools to Clyde steamers. There is also a collection of paintings and photographs of Rothesay.
The museum also houses a Lecture room and a library, which holds over 1,500 books. The collection also includes photographs, documents and maps, of which there is a complete set of Ordnance Survey Maps of the whole island.
The children can have fun whilst learning with the touch table, small aquarium, toddler’s case and the museum quiz. The museum shop stocks souvenirs, books and gifts.
