Doon Valley Museum

The museum is housed in one of the oldest buildings in Delmellington and dates from 1744. It was saved from demolition in the 1980s and is now a museum and art gallery.

The museum rooms show the social and industrial history of the area, including the ironworks, the coal mines and the communities, with a collection of artefacts and photographs. The exhibition is forever changing, displaying new objects and images.

Two other galleries exhibit work each year by amateur and professional artists. A big collection of maps and photographs are available for use by researchers of family and local history.
