Glenesk Folk Museum

The Glenesk Folk Museum was created by a local teacher, the late Miss. Greta Michie M.B.E., over fifty years ago and is now run by the community of Glenesk. On display is a wonderful array of domestic and agricultural objects, photographs and other artefacts, that tell the stories of life lived on the land over the centuries. The reconstructed rooms show life in the glen in Victorian times. The museum now has an agricultural exhibition in the Green Shed stables, showing agricultural implements from as early as the eighteenth century.

The restaurant & tea room serves a choice of meals, snacks and drinks and there is also a play area for the children. The shop offers a variety of gifts, including cards, candles, knitwear, preserves, soaps and Scottish themed gifts.
