Museum of Ayrshire Country Life & Costume

The beautifully restored historical buildings house a very important collection and give visitors a chance to step into the past. The three-storey grain store holds an extensive collection of Ayrshire farming and domestic memorabilia, with exhibitions telling the story of the rural community over the last century, from their work, pastimes, dress and life. Also, experience the machinery of a Victorian grain mill and the sight and sound of the water wheel.

Enjoy a relaxing walk by the River Garnock, with guides available at the museum. After, why not eat at The Miller’s Kitchen Coffee Room, where they serve soups, sandwiches, scones and cakes.
