Shetland Museum

The museums collections cover all aspects of the island’s history and are usually things that are used or have been made in Shetland. The collections come under many different categories including Folklife, Textiles, Natural History, Fisheries and Industry.

The Archive Collection provides records about past and present life in Shetland. They contain many kinds of documents, books and sound recordings, which cover a wide range of specialist areas including literature, music, textiles and natural history.

The museum shop offers a wide range of gifts, which are all inspired by Shetland’s heritage and culture. On sale you will find greeting cards, posters, model boats, toys, clothes, local arts & crafts, postcards, jewellery and books.
