When developing policies or major initiatives which will have national impact across the museum sector, our policy is to set up a Steering Group of stakeholders with a clear remit and identified Chair. It is likely that the Chair of the Steering Group will be an SMC Board member or an external Chair, but may be a member of SMC staff.
