SMC has two levels of membership, Associate and Full.
Associate membership is open to any organisation with charitable status, which has, or intends to have, a collection. Associate members have access to all SMC services except grants.
Full membership is open to any organisation that is registered under the Museums Accreditation Scheme run by MLA (the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council). Full members have access to all SMC services, including SMC grants, and are entitled to vote at the annual election of the SMC Chair and Board.
At both levels, members can benefit from access to a range of information, advice and services. SMC also provides opportunities for networking between members and acts as an advocate for the sector.
