ICT
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) supports almost every area of museum and gallery activity – internally for managing information, cataloguing collections, organisational processes and communication and externally, to interact with peers and the public through web-based and other technologies. Ultimately ICT is a powerful tool which museums and galleries can use to support their activities and engage with their audiences.
Digital Content Action Framework
Museums Galleries Scotland’s Digital Content Action Framework 2008-2011 is designed to support our members in their digital and ICT activities. The framework places digital content as its core priority with creating, delivering, preserving and sharing content as its themes. Within each theme different areas are identified as those which museums and galleries need to engage to enable successful developments.
The action framework sets out core objectives around the themes for both Museums Galleries Scotland and the sector. The objectives are designed to be measurable and realistic and useful to the broad spectrum of the sector.
The Digital Content Action Framework is available to download from the link above. Should you require a printed copy, please contact Museums Galleries Scotland.
