This project is raising the level of skills in all areas of museum and heritage operations across the Highlands and Islands and building lasting links with other relevant agencies. An extensive audit has analysed areas of training need relating to all aspects of museum and heritage operations; and based on this a series of training programmes is addressing sector priorities. The overarching priorities for the training will be local delivery where possible and participation at no cost to the training participant.
Capacity is being further developed through links with other programmes such as the North Highland (Heritage) Leader+ Programme and joint work with Hi-Arts. The project will see a significant and equitable raising of the skills base within the museums and heritage sector across the Highlands and Islands and a legacy of networking.
