Forth Dimension

Lead Partner: Falkirk Council

Partners: Stirling Council, Clackmannanshire Council

The Forth Dimension is a strategic product development and marketing programme that supports the promotion of Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire as a location to discover heritage through visits to museums and heritage facilities. It aims to align existing collections and heritage product with attractive new products to showcase the area to domestic and international visitors.

The main outcome of the project will be to develop a strong sustainable partnership with the markets that constitute the museums and heritage base, ie visitors, tourism agencies, museums and heritage providers, education, community learning and development and local authorities.

The funding will be spent in five main areas:
Market research, product development, developing lasting relationships with tourism agencies, training for museums and heritage staff and developing a network of museum and heritage providers for CPD and sharing good practice.

The project has appointed consultants Stevens & Associates, led by Dr. Terry Stevens to deliver the project.  Progress to date includes the establishment of a liason group with representatives from key stakeholder organisations, development of the Forth Dimension brand and thematic strands for marketing heritage attractions in the area and the delivery of an interpretive training session to representatives from a range of attractions. Work is now underway to launch the brand and develop the programme of work for years 2 and 3 of the project
