The Creative Scotland Bill is currently being considered at Stage 1, and has been referred to the Scottish Parliament Education, Lifelong Learning and Culture Committee. The Committee issued a call for written evidence regarding the Bill earlier this year, and Museums Galleries Scotland submitted a response. Please click on the following link to view

Museums Galleries Scotland previously responded to the Scottish Government consultation on the Draft Culture (Scotland) Bill (which has been superseded by the Creative Scotland Bill) after meeting with members and partner organisations to discuss areas of concern. The Creative Scotland Bill is the latest part of the cultural policy formulation process begun with the Scottish Government Action framework for Scotland’s Museums, continued through the work of the Cultural Commission and followed by “Culture Scotland”, the Scottish Government response to the Cultural Commission’s report.  Please click on the following link to view
