How your museum can get involved in CPD

CPD provision is an emerging field, and one in which museums may find opportunities for reaching new audiences. The ROEs report on the pioneering pilot provides insights into the potential benefits for museums and communities, while SMC is examining ways in which we might assist members in assessing CPD provision as a learning service.

In the first instance, SMC hopes to establish a network of members interested in examining the potential for CPD provision or hosting. If youd like to join the contact list weve established, please contact

Meanwhile, the ROEs CPD programme continues. If youd like your museum to play host to an ROE CPD event for science teachers in your region, or to discuss the valuable learnings that emerged from the pilot project, contact Dan Hillier, ROE Visitor Centre Manager.
