Lasting Impressions

This guide to getting the most out of learning in the heritage sector was published by SMC in September 2003. It is available free of charge to any interested party.

Lasting Impressions forms part of SMCs response to the Cultural Coordinators scheme but is also designed to support teachers (primary and secondary) and heritage staff with a remit for working with schools.  SMC worked in partnership with a steering group and the Heritage Education Officers Group (10 local and national heritage organisations in total) to produce the guide.  It includes a supportive foreword from Frank McAveety, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport as well as sections on:

The publication was produced to complement 3 regional training days which were held in September and October 2003, to encourage greater links between schools and the heritage sector. It has been extremely well received by Cultural Coordinators, teachers and a wide variety of heritage organisations.
