Care of textiles

From banners and embroideries to medal ribbons and costumes, many museum collections contain a wide range of textiles with different care needs.

During this course you will be given key guidance on identifying care needs, handling and moving, storage, support, protection and the display of these various textiles.

You will also have an opportunity to participate in exercises demonstrating this guidance whilst gaining from the knowledge and experience of the course leader.

This course is designed for curators, museum assistants and volunteers who are involved in caring for textiles in museum collections.
