Treasure Seekers is a national campaign for local museums, designed to excite the Scottish public about the wealth of museums available to them, and highlight the important role that museums play in their communities.
The campaign focuses on building an archive of photographs featuring celebrities alongside their choice object from their local museum. The photographs will be assembled and used to market Scotlands local museums in a fun and original way.
Working with photographer Neil McKinnon, the SMC are building up a collection of stylish images featuring a broad range of, mainly, Scottish celebrities and famous faces interacting with museums and their collections throughout Scotland.
Lorraine Kelly has backed the campaign and was photographed alongside Ernest Shakletons King Penguin, part of the University of Dundees museum collection. Other celebrity supporters include MSP Jack McConnell, Sweet Sixteen star, Martin Compston and contemporary artist, Jack Vettriano.
For SMC members that would like to get involved in the campaign, please contact us with any suggestions or links you have with celebrities and famous faces in your area.
